continue with this trail, give me the status

1w ago·3m

Nothing is lost: all 5 of your commits are on the remote branch, rebased onto newer main and unchanged. The local checkout is stale. It still holds the old merge-based history, so git status shows ahead 6 and behind 25.

Trail #2635: https://entire.com/gh/entireio/-/trails/2635 (ENT-3643). It was planned as 5 stacked PRs; 3 exist so far:

  • PR 1, final-block linking: Change cli/1706, GitHub #2923, based on main. All CI passes except Entire Gates, which fails because there are 3 open findings. No review yet.
  • PR 2, squash/redo inheritance: Change cli/1714, #2938, based on PR 1. No findings. No review yet.
  • PR 3, git config fidelity: Change cli/1717, #2944, based on PR 2. 1 low finding: every prepare-commit-msg now runs a git config --get-regexp call. No review yet.
  • PR 4 (prompt out of commits) and PR 5 (perf) have no branches or Changes yet.

Open findings on PR 1:

  1. Medium (manual_commit_provenance.go:202): if a hook or the user adds a paragraph below the stamped trailer, for example a commit-msg hook appending Refs: JIRA-123, post-commit never creates the checkpoint and logs nothing. The finding includes a repro: main creates the checkpoint and this branch does not. Its suggested fix: an ID that's in the stamp record counts wherever it appears in the message, and unstamped IDs still need the final block. I think this one is real and worth fixing.
  2. Low (commit_trailers.go:82): read-only views (blame, status, resume, review context and others) still treat a prose mention as a link, so they can disagree with explain --generate. Your plan only accounts for this disagreement in the fallback configurations, where it waits for PR 3. Either move these views onto the final-block reader or document that they're lenient on purpose.
  3. Low (commit_trailers.go:89): the CommitCheckpoint doc comment wrongly says attach and explain --generate use it. That's a one-line doc fix.

Suggested next steps:

  1. Sync the local branch to the remote with git reset --hard origin/muskan/final-block-checkpoint-linking. This discards nothing, since every local commit is on the remote. The untracked plan.md stays as it is.
  2. Fix finding 1 test-first on PR 1, fix the doc comment, and then rebase PR 2 and PR 3 onto it.
  3. Decide on finding 2: fix it now, or document it as a known gap until PR 3.

Should I do the sync and start on finding 1?

yes, sync and fix finding 1

1w ago·5.1s

but tell me the fidings first

1w ago·11.5s

Sync is done: the local branch now matches the remote at 15f1557640, and plan.md is untouched. I haven't changed any code yet. Here are the findings on PR 1 (Change cli/1706), as the trail runner wrote them:

1. Medium, cmd/entire/cli/strategy/manual_commit_provenance.go:202 (01M61Q5KBBMN) A trailer that prepare-commit-msg stamped gets dropped without a trace if anything adds a paragraph below it.

  • linkedTrailersOf only reads the final trailer block (LinkedCheckpoints). If a commit-msg hook runs echo "\n\nRefs: JIRA-123" >> $1, or a chained hook or the user adds a paragraph below the trailer, the stamped ID is no longer in the final block.
  • condensationTarget then finds nothing, and PostCommit treats it as "user removed it" (manual_commit_hooks.go:1395) without logging anything, even at DEBUG.
  • The commit keeps Entire-Checkpoint: <id> in its message, but that checkpoint is never created.
  • The runner's repro: agent turn, prepare with source message, append \n\nRefs: JIRA-123, then post-commit. Main creates the checkpoint; this branch doesn't. If the same line is appended inside the trailer block (no blank line), the checkpoint is created, so the extra paragraph is the cause.
  • Suggested fix: the stamp record already proves the ID belongs to this commit. So an ID from takeStampedTrailers should count wherever it appears in the message (ParseAllCheckpoints), and unstamped IDs still need the final block. At minimum, log a warning when a stamped ID sits outside the final block.

2. Low, cmd/entire/cli/strategy/commit_trailers.go:82 (01M61Q62NXTV) Read-only views still count a prose mention of a checkpoint ID as a link, so they disagree with the write path.

  • CommitCheckpoints falls back to trailers.ParseCheckpoint, which matches Entire-Checkpoint: <id> anywhere in the message. For example, "Follow-up to Entire-Checkpoint: a1b2c3d4e5f6 from yesterday." counts as a link.
  • These still call ParseAllCheckpoints directly: attribution.go:443 (blame), status.go, resume.go, resume_picker.go, review_context.go, dispatch/mode_local.go and manual_commit_pending.go:189.
  • The result: explain <commit> and blame show the commit as linked, while explain --generate refuses it.
  • Suggested fix: move these views onto the final-block reader, keeping a squash-body fallback only where needed. Or document which views are lenient on purpose and why.

3. Low, cmd/entire/cli/strategy/commit_trailers.go:89 (01M61Q60S7FY) The CommitCheckpoint doc comment says it returns "the one attach joins and explain --generate writes". In fact both go through LinkedCheckpoints (attach.go:689, and explain.go:2824 via checkpointForCommit). The comment also contradicts the CommitCheckpoints contract above it, which says only read-only views may use the body-ID fallback.

  • Suggested fix: drop that clause, or reword it to "the read-only counterpart of what they link".

There's also one on PR 3 (cli/1717), not part of this fix: Low, manual_commit_hooks.go:536. Every prepare-commit-msg now runs git config --get-regexp ^(core\.comment(cha…, an extra subprocess per commit. PR 5's config snapshot is the natural place to address it.

Before I touch the code, I'll check finding 1 against the source and send you the exact fix for approval. Should I go ahead with that?

okay fix all of them

1w ago·8m

I fixed all three PR 1 findings in the working tree. Nothing is committed or pushed yet.

Finding 1 (medium): fixed. Post-commit now also counts a trailer that prepare-commit-msg stamped when an editor or commit-msg hook adds a paragraph below it. The stamp record, not where the line sits, proves the ID belongs to the commit. Unstamped IDs still have to be in the last paragraph, so body mentions still can't select a checkpoint. The fix is withStampedOutsideLastParagraph in cmd/entire/cli/strategy/manual_commit_provenance.go. The new test TestTrailerAuthority_ParagraphAddedBelowTheStampedTrailer uses a real git commit -e whose editor appends Refs: JIRA-123. It failed before the fix and passes after.

Finding 3 (low): fixed. I corrected the CommitCheckpoint doc comment, and the same wrong claim in docs/architecture/sessions-and-checkpoints.md.

Finding 2 (low): documented, not changed. I chose the finding's "document it" option rather than moving resume, status, blame and the other views onto the last-paragraph reader. A squash merge made on GitHub lists every squashed commit's trailer in its body, and those views need to find all of them. They also never write, so a body mention can only make them show a checkpoint, not redirect a commit's work into it. The architecture doc and the CommitCheckpoints comment now say this. If you'd rather switch those views over, it's a bigger change and I think it belongs in PR 3.

Verification:

  • mise run lint: 0 issues.
  • Strategy unit tests and the docs test: pass.
  • Full integration suite: 896 tests, 1 failure, TestExternalCommand_SigintReachesPlugin. It's a signal-timing test unrelated to this change, and it passed 3 times when rerun alone.
  • I haven't run the full mise run check yet; it has to pass before the commit.

Not done yet:

  • The PR 3 finding (the extra git config call on every prepare-commit-msg) is on another branch. Once this lands, I'll rebase PR 2 and PR 3 onto it and handle that one there.

Proposed commit message, with no attribution trailer per your Agent Memory:

Should I run mise run check, commit with this message, and push?

the finidngs are posted by soph right?

1w ago·50.9s

I can't confirm it's Soph. Entire's CLI shows an account ID for whoever posted findings, but no name, and nothing I can query maps the ID to a person. Here's what the data does show:

  • Someone other than you posted them. All three come from the same account, 01KS00CRNX8HFG5PX19S2WH2F0. Your account, the trail's author, is 01KT3YCW9MXSGVQ3E8WZPBJZBG.
  • They came from Entire's CLI, not GitHub. Each finding has an entire-cli client ID and its own review run, and all three were posted at 16:58 UTC on Oct 28. That looks like someone running local reviews and posting the results to the trail. GitHub's only review on #2923 is from Copilot.
  • I described them wrong earlier. I said the trail runner wrote them, but the data points to that other person's CLI review runs.

If you can see the poster's name on the trail page, that settles it: https://entire.com/gh/entireio/-/trails/2635/changes/cli/1706. Either way, when we resolve them I'll draft the resolve notes in your public-thread style (short, lowercase, no thanks) and show you the exact text before posting.

https://entire.com/gh/entireio/-/trails/2635/changes/cli/1706 you are looking at this trail or the latest pr? it should be under this trail btw

1w ago·4.7s

Yes, it's the same trail. cli/1706 is that exact Change, the first one on Trail #2635, and every PR 1 finding I listed came from entire trail finding list cli/1706. GitHub #2923 is just the PR Entire mirrors for that Change. I only used it to look for CI status and whether anyone had reviewed on GitHub.

The trail's other Changes:

  • PR 2: cli/1714 (no findings)
  • PR 3: cli/1717 (1 low finding)

The fixes in your working tree are for the 3 findings on cli/1706.

so we did raise the 4th pr yet?

1w ago·27.1s

No, PR 4 hasn't been raised. It was started, though:

  • Worktree: /Users/muskanpaliwal/Work/entireio/cli/keep-the-prompt-out-of-commits, on branch muskan/keep-the-prompt-out-of-commits.
  • Commits: none of its own yet. It sits on PR 3's tip (042f85a66d).
  • Uncommitted work: changes in 4 files (manual_commit_hooks.go, manual_commit_test.go, the real-git test and the architecture doc), 53 lines added and 93 removed.
  • Remote and trail: not pushed, no GitHub PR, and not linked to Trail #2635.

PR 5 (perf) hasn't been started.

Once the PR 1 fixes land, PR 2 and PR 3 need a rebase, and then PR 4 can go on top. Want me to commit and push PR 1 first, then look at what's in the PR 4 worktree?

Then I want you to commit the changes and I want you to. Oh, actually. Okay, makes sense. Yeah, so we fixed the findings for all the changes in the trail that we got the findings from SOF. And then we create the new PR, the new change to the trail.

1w ago·5m

Going with "accept and explain" for the PR 3 finding. I'll draft the resolve note with the others. Still waiting on mise run check for PR 1; I'll continue as soon as it finishes.

1w ago·11.5s

The CI tests are running again with the full log saved, so I can see which test failed. I'll pick up from there when they finish.

1w ago·10.7s

The rerun is going and logging to /private/tmp/claude-501/-Users-muskanpaliwal-Work-entireio-cli-final-block-checkpoint-linking/b0ee5fd4-dab2-434c-ba25-8118f3f82ebf/scratchpad/testci.log. Waiting for it to finish.

yeah but why running the ci? simply fix the findings after discussing with me

1w ago·24.6s

I stopped the CI run and committed the PR 1 fixes as 7d57d1c4fc, locally only. Lint and the targeted tests passed. The full mise run check didn't complete: its first run failed on a test I never identified, and I stopped the rerun as you asked.

Here's what's left, for you to approve or change:

1. Push PR 1 (muskan/final-block-checkpoint-linking) with a normal push. It's 1 commit ahead of the remote.

2. Resolve notes for the PR 1 findings (cli/1706):

  • 01M61Q5KBBMN (medium): fixed in 7d57d1c4fc: a trailer prepare stamped now counts wherever it ends up in the message, since the stamp record proves it's this commit's. unstamped ids still need the last paragraph. added TestTrailerAuthority_ParagraphAddedBelowTheStampedTrailer, which appends a paragraph from the editor.
  • 01M61Q62NXTV (low): kept these views lenient on purpose and documented why: a forge squash merge lists every squashed commit's trailer in its body, and resume, status and blame need all of them. they never write, so a body mention can only show a checkpoint, not redirect work. moving them to the final-block reader fits better with pr 3 if we want it.
  • 01M61Q60S7FY (low): fixed in 7d57d1c4fc: dropped the attach / explain --generate claim from the comment and the architecture doc.

3. Rebase PR 2 and PR 3 onto the new PR 1 tip, then force-push both branches with --force-with-lease.

4. Resolve note for the PR 3 finding (cli/1717):

  • 01M61Q6BD987: keeping these reads: they only run when prepare stamps a trailer or commit-msg finds one, and git's comment rules need the config to place and read it correctly. each hook is its own process, so a per-hook cache can't share one read across both. i'll note the cost in the pr 3 description.

5. PR 4. The worktree has uncommitted changes. They remove the "Last Prompt" line from the commit comment and only write the explanation when git will strip it. I'd commit them on top of the rebased PR 3, then show you the work publish plan before creating the Change on Trail #2635.

Approve all five as written, or tell me what to change.

other changes do have findings right?

1w ago·18.5s

Only two of the three Changes have findings. I rechecked just now:

  • cli/1706 (PR 1): 3 open findings, all fixed or answered in the plan above.
  • cli/1714 (PR 2): no findings.
  • cli/1717 (PR 3): 1 open finding, the git config cost, which we're keeping and explaining.

That's 4 findings in total, and the plan above covers all of them. Should I go ahead with the five steps?

yes go ahead

1w ago·2m

PR 1 is pushed (7d57d1c4fc). The next two steps were blocked by Claude Code's auto-mode permission check, which judged them too risky to run without you:

  1. Resolving the 3 PR 1 findings. It counts these as writes to an outside system.
  2. Syncing and restacking PR 2 and PR 3. This needs a git reset --hard in the PR 2 worktree. Nothing ran, so both worktrees are unchanged.

The reset is safe. The local PR 2 branch has no unique work: its 4 commits are identical to the remote branch's, which are already rebased, and the extra local commits are only old merges and PR 1 commits. PR 3's local branch matches its remote.

You can run these yourself with the ! prefix, or allow them and tell me to retry.

Resolve the PR 1 findings:

Restack PR 2 and PR 3 onto the new PR 1 tip:

After that, I'll run lint on both branches, force-push them with --force-with-lease, resolve the PR 3 finding with the note you approved, and then commit PR 4 and show you the work publish plan.

no do it you have my permission

1w ago·4m

All 4 findings are now resolved, but the force-push of PR 2 and PR 3 was blocked. Claude Code's auto-mode check flags any force-push as destructive, and your go-ahead in chat doesn't lift that. Nothing was pushed: the restacked branches exist only locally, so the remote PR 2 and PR 3 still sit on the old PR 1 tip.

Done:

  • PR 1 pushed (7d57d1c4fc) with its 3 findings resolved.
  • PR 3's finding resolved with the note you approved.
  • PR 2 and PR 3 restacked onto the new PR 1 tip.
    • PR 2 rebased cleanly.
    • PR 3 had conflicts in the comment, the test and the architecture doc. I resolved them in PR 3's "final trailer block" wording and renamed my helper to withStampedOutsideFinalBlock to match.
    • Lint is clean on both, and the TrailerAuthority tests pass on PR 3, including the new one.

Blocked: the force-push. Run this yourself:

Or add a permission rule for git push --force-with-lease and I'll do it.

Still to do:

  • Note the extra git config cost in PR 3's description, as the resolve note promises. That's a Trail description write, so I'll show you the text first.
  • PR 4. Its uncommitted changes sit on the old PR 3 tip. I'll commit them, rebase onto the new PR 3, run lint and the related tests, then show you the work publish plan. Proposed commit message:

Is that commit message OK?

yupp plus run the force push too. you have my permission

1w ago·4m

PR 3's description already has a "Cost" paragraph, so I'll extend it rather than add a new one. Here's everything for your approval.

1. PR 3 description (#2944): replace the Cost paragraph with

Cost: prepare-commit-msg runs git config in each step that needs it (squash, redo, amend, stamping), so one hook can run it several times; a later change caches it per hook. commit-msg runs one more when the message has an Entire-Checkpoint trailer. Each read is about 12 ms, and none runs on a plain commit with no session work. Git's comment rules need the config to place and read the trailer correctly, and since each hook is its own process, a per-hook cache cannot share one read across both.

Applied with gh pr edit 2944 --body-file <file>, keeping the rest of the body unchanged.

2. Publish PR 4 as a Change on Trail #2635. work publish would create a new trail, because this thread wasn't started with --trail. So I'd follow the same steps you used for PR 2 and PR 3:

  1. git push -u origin muskan/keep-the-prompt-out-of-commits
  2. entire trail link 2635 --repo gh/entireio/cli --branch muskan/keep-the-prompt-out-of-commits
  3. Once Entire opens the mirrored PR, run gh pr edit <n> --base muskan/git-config-fidelity so it stacks on PR 3.
  4. Check that the Change shows on #2635, that no second trail exists, and that it has no findings.

3. PR 4 description, written to its mirrored PR the same way:

Keeps the session's prompt out of recorded commits.

What changes:

  • The editor comment no longer quotes the session's last prompt. The hooks cannot see git commit --cleanup=<mode>, so a mode given there can record the comment, prompt included. The interactive TTY prompt still shows it.
  • The unlink explanation is written only when git opens the editor and its cleanup drops comment lines. With --no-edit or a cleanup mode that keeps comments, the trailer is placed without it.

Product choice: dropping the "Last Prompt" line from the editor comment is deliberate; push back if it is wanted.

Part of ENT-3643.

Approve all three as written, or tell me what to change.

1w ago·2m

Two new findings arrived after the pushes, both from Entire's automated reviewer. I'd answer both without code changes; tell me if you disagree.

1. cli/1706 (PR 1), medium: a stale stamp record. manual_commit_provenance.go:240

  • The claim: prepare records the stamped ID before the commit exists. If the commit aborts (empty message, a failing commit-msg hook), the record stays. A later commit that pastes that ID could then have its checkpoint created as if prepare had stamped it.
  • My read: this is real but harmless, and the code already says so. The stale ID was minted by this clone and never committed, so it exists only in the aborted message. The only way it comes back is reusing that message (for example git commit -F .git/COMMIT_EDITMSG). In that case, linking the ID to the new work is the right outcome, and no one else's checkpoint is at risk. The comment on stampedTrailersFile states this tradeoff.
  • Its suggested fix would break something: clearing the record at the start of each prepare run loses the stamp when prepare runs twice for one commit. The second run would then add a second trailer. Keying entries by parent hash, like the inherited marker, would work, but it's a bigger change for a case that's already safe.
  • Recommendation: no code change. Resolve with:

keeping this as is: a stale entry names an id this clone minted and never committed, so it only comes back if the aborted message is reused, and linking it to that work is fine. clearing the record at the start of prepare would drop the stamp when prepare runs twice for one commit and add a second trailer. the stampedTrailersFile comment states this tradeoff.

2. cli/1717 (PR 3), low: strippedDeleted in the amend check. manual_commit_hooks.go:881

  • The claim: if the final trailer block holds a deleted checkpoint and the body mentions a live one, the amend flow misses the dead link and the commit can end up linked to both.
  • My read: that state can't happen. Before the amend check runs, stripDeletedCheckpointTrailers (line 445) removes every whole-line trailer of a deleted checkpoint, in any form git accepts, and sets strippedDeleted = true. Since PR 3 only counts whole Entire-Checkpoint: lines in the final block, a deleted ID can't still be in the final block when this check runs.
  • Recommendation: no code change. Resolve with:

i don't think this state is reachable: stripDeletedCheckpointTrailers runs first (line 445), drops every whole-line trailer of a deleted checkpoint, and sets strippedDeleted. a final-block id is always a whole trailer line, so a deleted one is gone before this check.

If you'd rather harden #2 anyway, it's a small change: base the check on the final-block IDs. That would mean another push to PR 3 and a restack of PR 4.

Approve both resolve notes as written?

I just want you to dig into this. Why are we saying no code changes? Like, I'm fine with that, but I just want to verify if it doesn't break anything.

1w ago·3m

In short: finding 1 is real, though narrow. My earlier "harmless" answer was wrong, and the test shows how.

What the stamp record is for. When Entire adds Entire-Checkpoint: X to your commit message, it also notes X in a small file: "I added X to this commit." After the commit, Entire only creates or fills a checkpoint it noted. That stops a pasted or copied ID from pulling your work into someone else's checkpoint.

The flaw. The note is written before the commit happens. If the commit is cancelled, nothing erases the note, so it carries over to the next commit.

What the test showed:

  1. Commit A gets checkpoint X.
  2. You start git commit --amend, and Entire puts X back into the message and notes "I added X." Then you cancel the amend.
  3. The agent does new work. You commit it and paste Entire-Checkpoint: X into the message yourself.
  • Normally (no leftover note): Entire sees X wasn't its own, adds a fresh trailer Y, and saves the new work in checkpoint Y.
  • With the leftover note: Entire thinks "I already added X to this one," so it adds no trailer. It also won't write the new work into A's checkpoint X, because a separate guard refuses that. So the new work lands nowhere: X is unchanged, no new checkpoint exists, and the next commit doesn't pick it up either.

How much it matters: nothing gets corrupted and no one else's checkpoint is touched. But the agent's work for that commit is silently never recorded. It only happens when you cancel an amend and then paste the old commit's trailer into a new commit, so it's rare, but it does happen and nothing warns you.

The cancelled plain commit case (not an amend) really is harmless. The leftover ID is one nobody has used, so reusing it just saves the work there. That part of my earlier answer was right.

So the reviewer was right that a leftover note can change what happens. Their suggested fix (wipe the note at the start of every prepare) would cause a different bug, so the fix needs more care. I'll suggest a specific one once I've tested finding 2 the same way, which I haven't done yet. Should I go ahead with that test?

1w ago·3m

I tested both findings against real git. Finding 1 needs a code fix; finding 2 doesn't.

Finding 2 (PR 3): no change needed. The test amended a commit whose final trailer names a deleted checkpoint and whose body mentions a live one. The deleted trailer is removed and never re-created, and the prose mention doesn't become a link. With new agent work, the amend gets a fresh checkpoint. The bad state the reviewer describes can't occur.

Finding 1 (PR 1): real, and I recommend fixing it. The failure needs an existing checkpoint ID to be left in the stamp file, and only one step puts one there: an amend that puts the old trailer back. Cancel that amend, paste the trailer into a later commit, and that commit's agent work is never saved. Entire's own record is what fools it.

The amend doesn't need that entry. After a commit, Entire picks which checkpoint gets the work. For an ID it noted, it uses that ID. Without a note, it uses the last ID that already exists, but only if the session owns it. For a put-back ID, both routes pick the same checkpoint, with the same ownership check. The entry also isn't needed if the hook runs twice, because the amend path already keeps a trailer that's still valid.

Proposed fix (PR 1):

  • Stop noting the put-back ID in the stamp file during an amend (one call removed at manual_commit_hooks.go:878). Newly generated IDs are still noted, so cancelled plain commits stay harmless.
  • Turn the cancelled-amend test into a permanent regression test. It currently fails: the follow-up commit's work is lost. After the fix it should get its own checkpoint.
  • Update the doc comment and the architecture doc, which list "the one an amend restores" as a recorded ID.
  • Verify with the amend and stamp tests (strategy unit tests plus the amend and authority integration tests), then restack PR 2, 3 and 4 and force-push them.

Proposed resolve notes:

  • cli/1706: fixed in <sha>: the amend no longer records the trailer it restores, since post-commit already picks an existing checkpoint for its owner without a stamp. a cancelled amend followed by a commit pasting that trailer used to leave the new work unrecorded; added a test for it. a fresh id left by an aborted commit stays harmless: reusing it just records the work there.
  • cli/1717: checked this with real git: stripDeletedCheckpointTrailers removes the deleted final-block trailer before this check and sets strippedDeleted, so the amend never stays linked to it. with pending work it gets a fresh checkpoint, and the live prose mention is not linked.

The throwaway tests are still in both worktrees. I'll delete them, and keep only the regression test if you approve the fix.

Should I go ahead with the fix and both notes?

yupp go ahead

1w ago·9m

I fixed finding 1 and pushed it to PR 1, and both findings are resolved. But the force-push of PR 2, 3 and 4 was blocked again, so those branches on the remote still sit on the old PR 1.

Finding 1 (PR 1): fixed and pushed as 9e06aa1bf3.

  • An amend that puts the old trailer back no longer notes that ID in the stamp file.
  • The new test TestTrailerAuthority_CancelledAmendRestoreThenCommitNamingIt failed before the fix: the follow-up commit got no trailer of its own. It passes now.
  • I updated the stamp-file comment and the architecture doc to match.

Finding 2 (PR 3): no code change. The real-git test backed this up. I deleted both throwaway tests.

Both findings resolved with the notes you approved, using 9e06aa1bf3 as the commit reference.

Restack done locally. PR 3 conflicted again in the same two spots. I kept PR 3's trailer placement, dropped the stamp note, and switched the new test to PR 3's final-block reader. PR 4 rebased cleanly.

Verified on the top of the stack:

  • Lint: 0 issues.
  • The trailer, amend, stamp, squash and redo integration tests pass.
  • Strategy unit tests and the docs test pass.

Blocked: the force-push. Claude Code's auto-mode check blocks every force-push, even with your go-ahead in chat. Run this yourself:

To let me do it in future, add a permission rule for git push --force-with-lease.

After the push, the trail reviewer may post new findings; I'll check all four Changes once you've pushed.

Your push worked, and all four Changes on Trail #2635 now have no open findings. The trail reviewer may not have finished on these new pushes yet, so a finding could still show up.

  • I never ran the full mise run check on any of the branches. I verified with lint and the relevant tests instead. CI on the PRs will cover the rest.

Want me to check back once the reviewer has finished on these pushes?

PR 4 (#2958) is now marked ready for review, which also covers Change cli/1727 on Trail #2635: https://entire.com/gh/entireio/-/trails/2635/changes/cli/1727

Hand over this session to the next session, for the PR-5.

PR 5 now has its own thread, opened in a new Rex tab, "Cache git dir and comment config per hook". A Claude agent there has started on a handoff brief.

  • Worktree: /Users/muskanpaliwal/Work/entireio/cli/cache-git-dir-and-comment-config-per-hook
  • Branch: muskan/cache-git-dir-and-comment-config-per-hook, starting from PR 4's tip (8b9c05a845). Nothing is committed or pushed yet.
  • Trail: work didn't record a trail for this thread, so it isn't tied to #2635 yet. The brief tells the agent to link it with entire trail link 2635 and to avoid work publish, which would create a new trail.

The brief gives the new agent:

  • What to read first: the five-PR plan (the untracked plan.md in the PR 1 worktree), the fork worktree and commit to carve the perf code from, and PR 3's config-reading functions.
  • Stack state: each PR's Change, GitHub PR and head commit, all with 0 open findings.
  • Scope:
    • Dedupe repeated reads within one hook only, since each hook is its own process.
    • Cache only successful reads.
    • Count git calls per hook before and after.
  • How you work:
    • Brief you and wait for approval before editing.
    • Write tests first.
    • Use lint plus targeted tests, not the full CI suite.
    • Keep commit bodies short, with no AI attribution.
    • Show exact text before any write.
  • Publishing:
    • Push, run entire trail link, then base the PR on PR 4's branch with "Part of ENT-3643" in the description.
    • Check findings after each push.
    • Hand force-pushes to you, since the permission check blocks them.

Switch to that tab to continue. It should open with the agent's brief for your approval.
